Privacy policy

This site answers one question and needs almost nothing from you to do it. Here is exactly what happens with your data. Last updated 17 October 2026.

Who runs this site

Is It a Holiday Today is operated by an individual publisher based in Stockholm, Sweden, and is subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact details on the About page.

What we collect

No account, no sign-up, no forms. When you load a page, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives the standard information every website receives: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Cloudflare uses the IP address to work out which country you are in and passes us only the two-letter country code, which we use to pre-select your country on the home page. We do not store IP addresses ourselves, and the country code is not saved anywhere.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Google Analytics runs in cookieless consent mode (see Analytics below). If we add advertising in future, that will change and you will be asked for consent first.

Advertising

The site is free to use and may show advertisements to cover its costs. If and when ads are enabled, they will be served by Google AdSense or a comparable network. Those networks may use cookies and similar identifiers to show relevant ads and to measure them. Visitors in the EU, the UK and other regions with consent rules will see a consent dialog before any such cookie is set, and can decline personalised advertising. Google's use of data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 in Google's consent mode with storage switched off by default. In this mode Google Analytics sets no cookies and stores no identifiers on your device; it only receives anonymous, cookieless signals (the page viewed, the country, the browser type) which Google aggregates. Your IP address is truncated before it is stored. We also look at Cloudflare's aggregated traffic statistics. Neither lets us identify an individual visitor.

Third parties

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and the analytics script from Google Tag Manager, which means Google receives your IP address when those files are requested. Flags, calendar data and all page content are served from our own hosting. No other third party receives data from your visit unless ads are enabled as described above.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. Because we do not store personal data, there is normally nothing to retrieve, but you are welcome to ask. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Material changes, such as enabling advertising, will be announced on this page before they take effect.
